Agrico Builds Innovative Quality Center for Potatoes

Potato cooperative Agrico has started construction work on a quality center to monitor the quality and vitality of its potato varieties.
This facility will be built on a plot on De Munt industrial zone in Emmeloord, close to the head office. Reliability and quality are top priorities at Agrico, a company which is building a quality center to improve the level of monitoring its potato varieties. The center will enable Agrico to perform inspections efficiently, in order to obtain greater insight into the quality and, above all, vitality of its potatoes.
The quality center will be equipped with climate chambers, where potatoes can be warmed for example. This allows the long-term quality of various varieties to be predicted. The information will help Agrico identify the right destination for each lot and contribute to guaranteeing the quality of the potatoes sold to customers. The center will use the latest technology to register all relevant research data, according to the potato cooperative. This data will offer insight into the quality of all potatoes marketed by Agrico and will also be used to optimize the cultivation and storage methods.
The quality center is expected to positively contribute to the quality and sales of Agrico products. Construction work on the center will be completed in autumn 2018.
