Agrico Partners with S.V. Agri to Deliver Varieties Suitable for India

Dutch cooperative Agrico has recently signed a deal with Indian-based potato supply chain organization S.V. Agri with the aim to develop high-yield varieties uniquely suitable for India.
The cooperation will allow S.V. Agri to bring to the Indian market a selection of Agrico varieties that are targeted at the unique Indian growing conditions. This will, in turn, enable Indian farmers to reduce usage of fungicides, as these varieties are resistant to blight, as well as enable access to international markets. Additionally, S.V. Agri also gets access to the quality assessment tools developed by Agrico.
Agrico was established as a cooperative in 1973 by the merger of multiple regional cooperatives and has 1300 potato farmers as members. It also offers a very large collection of potato varieties. Recently the company presented four new varieties for the Dutch variety list during its event hosted at its research facility in Bant, the Netherlands.
