Potato Scientist Andrew Robinson Receives NDSU Award

North Dakota State University (NDSU) faculty and staff received awards for excellence in research, teaching, extension and support staff efforts, in an awards ceremony on campus.
Among the award recipients was extension potato agronomist Andrew Robinson from the Department of Plant Sciences. He received the Myron and Muriel Johnsrud Excellence in Extension/Outreach Award.
Dr. Robinson’s areas of responsibility are in Extension and research for potato production in North Dakota and Minnesota. His research is focused on developing science-based solutions to address real-world problems in potato production, enabling producers to increase economic and environmental sustainability, through improved crop management. Research and Extension is concentrated on the exposure of potatoes to herbicides, the effect of row spacing and nutrient management, and developing educational materials for potato producers and professionals.
The awards were presented during the 25th annual Agriculture and Extension Faculty/Staff Awards program. Forty-seven people were nominated this year for ten different awards.
