Wisconsin Growers to Vote on Potato Industry Board Representatives

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has announced the commencement of elections for the Wisconsin Potato Industry Board. Ballots will be mailed to eligible potato growers during the week of May 12, with completed ballots due by June 16, 2025.
The election will determine representatives for the following positions:

District 1 Nominee: Keith Wolter, Antigo – Representing counties including Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Brown, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Door, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Florence, Forest, Iron, Kewaunee, Langlade, Lincoln, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Oneida, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, Taylor, Vilas, and Washburn.

District 2 Nominee: Andy Diercks, Coloma – Representing Marathon, Outagamie, Portage, Shawano, Waupaca, and Waushara counties.

At-Large Nominee: Joseph E. Seis, Grand Marsh – Representing all producers across the state.
Elected producers will serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025. The Wisconsin Potato Industry Board is composed of nine producers from three districts across the state, with one at-large member elected every third year. The board administers the collection and use of approximately $2 million in assessment fees paid by Wisconsin potato growers, funding research, education, and promotion of Wisconsin-grown potatoes.
Growers who have not received a ballot by May 20, 2025, can request one by contacting DATCP Market Orders staff at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov. Completed ballots must be emailed to the same address or postmarked to DATCP Market Orders Program, PO Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708, on or before June 16, 2025.
