Farmers and Producers Meet at International Field Days in Bulgaria

The DLG International Field Days in Bulgaria expect some 80 companies and approx. 4,000 visitors, in Plovdiv, June 5-7.
The Field Days are an established platform and meeting point for farmers, consultants and producers and distributors of seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products and machinery. Visitors can expect modern plant varieties, new means of production, improved cultivation methods, live demonstration of agricultural machinery as well as the latest research findings.
The field will be open for farmers and agricultural professionals from all over Bulgaria.
Two well-known institutions have joined forces to make the field day possible – the Agricultural University of Plovdiv – the leading Bulgarian university in the agricultural sector, and German Agricultural Society, dedicated to implementing innovations in agriculture since 1885.
For more than ten months, the field teams of DLG Bulgaria, the university and leading companies such as BASF, Rapool, Belchim, Claas and Nik Electronics have been preparing the University trial fields – «Tsarigradsko Shosse», Skobeleva mayka (exit from Plovdiv to Haskovo). 500sqm of irrigation equipment has been laid, 52 demo fields pegged out, ploughed and worked, almost 10 ha of lawn for driveways and parking areas sown and mowed and volunteers schooled. Visitors will have an impressive choice of modern agricultural technologies and state of the art machinery, all in one place.
The event starts on June 5 at 10:00 am with a VIP panel discussion and will be officially opened by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the German Embassy, the Agricultural University of Plovdiv and DLG-International at 11:30 am. The field will be open from June 5 to June 6 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and on June 7 from 09:00 am to 2:00 pm. Visitors can register online – mdp.bg/en/visitor-registration.
