USD11.98m HyFun Foods Agricultural Produce Procurement and Farmer Connect Program
HyFun Foods launched HyFarm, an agricultural produce procurement and farmer connect program, with a USD11.98m pledge to transform fresh produce procurement.
Presented at a celebration ceremony to mark Hyfun Foods’ completion of the projected procurement of 300,000 tonnes of processing-grade potatoes from farmers this year, the farmer-facing HyFarm venture was officially launched. HyFarm executives told the Hindi media that the company aims to include 30,000 farmers in its network by 2030. Having previously restricted its procurement to potatoes of processing grade, HyFarm now intends to include table and chipping varieties as well, to achieve one million tons of procurement by 2028.
“At HyFun Foods, we believe in the power of partnership and collaboration. Through HyFarm, we are not only investing in the future of farming but also in the prosperity of rural communities. Fresh produce is the cornerstone to the success of HyFun Foods and through this initiative, we aim to strengthen our commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients while empowering farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture,” Haresh Karamchandani, MD and CEO of the company, said.
With a revenue of over USD119.8m, HyFun Foods is India’s largest processor of potatoes into frozen French fries and potato specialties.
