Western Growers Unveil AgTech Startup Database

Western Growers has officially rolled out an interactive directory which acts as a marketplace for agricultural technology (agtech) startups. The new database, allows users to identify, research and easily connect with start-up companies who are at the frontline of innovation in new technologies. These startups are specialized in everything from automation and traceability to data management and aerial imagery.
“As the agtech industry grows and the number of startups continues to increase, farm operators do not necessarily have the time to vet each startup to determine if a partnership is viable. The vision of Western Growers AgTech Innovation Directory is to streamline the process, saving farmers time and money by allowing them to easier search for the startup and technology that meets their most immediate needs,” said Hank Giclas, Western Growers’ senior vice president, strategic planning, science & technology.
The service includes an advanced search function which allows users to find desired startups by using filter categories such as location, issues addressed, solutions offered or crops/commodities.
In addition to serving farmers, the directory will also provide agtech start-up companies with the ability to connect directly with growers and potential clients. While the directory is open to the public, only Western Growers and Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology members will be able to post comments and reviews.
