Kiremko May Collaborate with Uzbek Producers

Dutch potato equipment producer Kiremko has recently expressed its willingness to provide guidance for potato producers in Uzbekistan. The possibility was discussed during a meeting held between the company’s representatives and officials of the Uzbek Embassy in the Belenux countries, reports UzDaily.
The two delegations talked about the prospects of creating a joint production for the processing of potatoes in Uzbekistan. Moreover, Kiremko expressed interest in establishing a connection with the Uzbek Association of Potato Producers. The company could also start organizing trainings on the production and storage of seed potatoes for members of the Association.
For its part, the Uzbek delegation took the opportunity to share information regarding the measures taken in Uzbekistan to attract novel technologies to the agro-industrial sector, modernize production processes and to expand export-oriented products.
According to Twan van Berg, Kiremko’s regional sales manager, this partnership could ultimately see the establishment of a potato processing plant in Uzbekistan, as well as a line for the production of French fries and chips.
Similar talks were recently held between Dutch seed potato supplier, Meijer and representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Netherlands. The two parties discussed the commissioning of the first plant for the production of chips in Central Asia based on Dutch technology.
