Lamb Weston Introduces Retail Fry Range In Malaysia After Singapore Debut

Lamb Weston has extended its Southeast Asia retail footprint with the launch of its frozen potato products in Malaysia, following the brand’s first regional retail debut in Singapore in November 2025.
The Malaysia rollout makes Lamb Weston’s restaurant-style fries available for home preparation, with products positioned for use in air fryers and ovens. According to the company, the range is produced using Lamb Weston’s proprietary Stealth™ batter technology, designed to deliver consistent crispness when prepared without deep frying.
The products will be distributed through selected Malaysian grocery chains, including Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer, The Food Merchant, AEON, Jaya Grocer, De Market and QRA outlets.
Retail Range Targets Home Consumption
The Malaysian retail launch includes six fry cut styles, combining seasoned and natural variants:
-
Twister™ Fries Seasoned
-
Waffle Fries Seasoned
-
Ziggy™ Fries Seasoned
-
Potato Dippers™ Natural
-
Rustic Fries Natural
-
Grill Fries Salt & Pepper
All products are coated with the Stealth™ batter and are positioned by the company as suitable for air-fryer and oven preparation. Lamb Weston states that the products are Halal-certified, vegan and gluten-free.
From Foodservice To Retail
Founded in 1950 in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, Lamb Weston has built its business primarily as a foodservice supplier. Over time, the company has expanded its portfolio through processing innovations and differentiated fry cuts, supplying restaurants and quick-service restaurant (QSR) operators globally.
The move into Southeast Asia retail reflects a broader strategy to extend the brand beyond foodservice into at-home consumption, initially through Singapore and now Malaysia.
Packaging And Sustainability Commitments
Alongside the retail launch, Lamb Weston highlighted changes to its packaging design. The new retail packs are 20% thinner and contain at least 60% bio-renewable polyethylene derived from used cooking oil, according to the company. Lamb Weston links this initiative to its wider sustainability targets, which include halving food waste and reducing carbon emissions by 25% by 2033.
