SGS Unveils Nexus As Unified Platform For Regulatory Intelligence And Food Safety Risk Analysis

SGS has announced the launch of SGS Nexus, a new global food intelligence platform created through the integration of its regulatory intelligence solution SGS Digicomply with Agroknow, a provider of food safety analytics and AI-driven risk intelligence.
The move reflects increasing demand for integrated, real-time intelligence tools as food businesses manage evolving regulatory requirements, complex supplier networks and growing volumes of safety-related data. The combined platform is designed to support a shift from reactive compliance toward predictive risk management across global supply chains.
SGS Nexus brings together three core capabilities: SGS’s inspection and quality expertise, Agroknow’s food risk analytics, and SGS Digicomply’s regulatory intelligence. According to the company, the platform will enable users to monitor regulatory developments, identify emerging safety risks and generate audit-ready documentation across supplier networks.
“With SGS Nexus, we’re not just merging technologies – we’re establishing a new global standard for food intelligence,” said Géraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS. “This platform reflects our Strategy 27 ambition to build trust through digital ecosystems and reinforces our role as an independent partner helping clients navigate growing regulatory and safety complexity.”
The integration also combines the client bases of SGS Digicomply and Agroknow. Existing users will continue operating their current systems while gaining access to expanded datasets and analytics as the platform evolves.
“Our goal is to become the go-to intelligence layer for food companies worldwide,” said Nikos Manouselis, CEO of Agroknow. “By combining regulatory data, food safety incidents and machine learning in a single environment, we’re transforming how risk is assessed, managed and prevented.”
Over the next 12 months, SGS plans to roll out a unified platform that consolidates the functionalities of both systems while introducing additional tools aimed at supporting compliance and risk management processes.
According to the company, the platform will provide capabilities including real-time monitoring of global regulatory developments, predictive risk detection based on datasets such as recalls and import refusals, and tools to support audit planning and reporting aligned with major standards.
Additional functions will include supplier and material risk assessment, as well as the ability to integrate regulatory and food safety intelligence into external systems through Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) channels.
SGS stated that the development of Nexus forms part of its broader digital strategy, aimed at supporting a more data-driven approach to food safety and compliance management. Further details regarding the platform and its rollout are expected to be announced in the coming months.
