Lamb Weston Officially Opens a New Plant in Kruiningen

Lamb Weston officially opened its new production plant in Kruiningen, the Netherlands, on November 7, 2024. Regional and local authorities, suppliers, and staff directly involved in the project were present.
With this investment, Lamb Weston will be able to produce 195m kilograms more annually, meeting the increasing demand for premium frozen potato products around the world. With this expansion, the Kruiningen location now has about 650 employees, including the 120 new workers operating in this new factory.
More than five years ago, Lamb Weston made this commitment as part of the company’s long-term, sustainable growth strategy. The building of Lamb Weston’s second frozen potato product factory in Kruiningen has greatly increased the site’s capacity for production while using sustainable technology to improve product packaging and potato processing.
A New Standard for Design and Functionality
In the potato industry, Lamb Weston is establishing new benchmarks for functionality and design. The business remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and customer service while working closely with growers, consumers, and logistics companies as supply chain partners. To minimize emissions, the new production facility is built to maximize the reuse of heat and water while guaranteeing the effective use of raw materials. The plant’s process water is purified before being used again, reducing its negative effects on the environment.
“This new factory is state-of-the-art, designed with future generations in mind; to be able to bring the world together with our fries, delivering our loved potato products to more people around the globe,” Stephan van Kuik, Senior Vice President and General Manager Lamb Weston EMEA, concluded.
