Simplot Names Brent Hocklander Next CFO

Brent Hocklander has been appointed the next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Senior Vice President (SVP) of The J.R. Simplot Company. Brent Moylan, who announced his retirement earlier this year, will be replaced by Hocklander.
“Brent brings a wealth of international experience and expertise to this position. His solutions-driven approach to solving complex challenges in the global marketplace has expedited results in our food business and I know will contribute greatly to the continued success of our entire Company,” Simplot President and CEO, Garrett Lofto, said about Hocklander.
As Vice President of Finance in Simplot’s Global Food division, Hocklander joined the company in 2020 and played a key role in combining Simplot Australia and the previous Food Group division, two heritage finance organizations.
Hocklander is the newest member of the Simplot Leadership Team (SLT) and will be directly accountable to Lofto in his new position. Hocklander worked for Micron for 16 years in a range of finance leadership roles, including those in Global Cost Planning, Managerial Cost Accounting, and other Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) departments, before joining Simplot.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited to broaden my experience with the J.R. Simplot Company. Brent and the finance team have established a strong foundation for the organization, and I look forward to joining in that effort,” Hocklander said.
Moylan retires after 29 years with the Company, including serving as SVP and CFO for the past five years.
“We thank Brent (Moylan) for his tremendous service over the years and wish him and his wife, Laura, a healthy and happy retirement. He has been an engaged member of our team, leading Finance and delivering on several strategic initiatives aimed at transforming our Finance team into a global forward-thinking organization,” Lofto concluded.
