Simplot Names G.Rey Reinhardt as AgriBusiness President

G.Rey Reinhardt has been appointed President of the AgriBusiness Group of the J.R. Simplot Company. Doug Stone, who announced his retirement earlier this year, will be replaced by Reinhardt.
“We are excited to announce G.Rey as the new head of Simplot AgriBusiness. His extensive industry experience, familiarity with the business, exceptional leadership skills, and strategic mindset will be vital to the Company as we drive growth and work endlessly to exceed the expectations of our customers,” Simplot President and CEO, Garrett Lofto, said.
Reinhardt has worked for the company for a total of six years. At Simplot AgriBusiness, where he most recently held the position of Vice President of Business Development and Optimization, he and his colleagues were in charge of creating and carrying out strategic growth plans for every business division. Leading the team in partnerships and acquisitions, operational efficiency projects, off-take possibilities, and new product assessments were all part of this.
Prior positions at Simplot included Senior Director of Operations for Simplot Grower Solutions, the company’s retail agricultural segment, Interim General Manager of Jacklin Seed, and Interim Vice President for Simplot AgriBusiness’ Mining and Manufacturing division.
“I’m honored and grateful for this opportunity and will dedicate myself to serving our customers, employees, and the Company. Collectively, Simplot AgriBusiness will strive to fulfill our vision by operating as a customer-centric organization, rooted in phosphate expertise, while utilizing technology and innovation to help feed the world,” Reinhardt said.
Doug Stone retires after eight years with the Company. He will stay on to help in Reinhardt’s transition through the end of this year.
“We thank Doug for his leadership, dedication, and service to the Company and wish him a happy retirement. G.Rey will step in with the experience and skills to help ensure a smooth transition and keep the positive momentum Doug and the Company have established,” Lofto added.
Before joining Simplot, Reinhardt was at Nutrien (formerly Agrium) for eleven years, where he served as Vice President of Retail Operations and vice President of Operational Excellence, and led the Corporate Environmental Health, Safety and Security team, amongst other senior leadership roles. Before entering the agriculture industry, Reinhardt began his professional career in 2000 as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and served as an attorney in Boise, Idaho. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho.
