Sormac, the fresh-cut fruit and vegetable industry’s top supplier of machinery, complete processing lines, and turnkey solutions, buys the majority of Foodcons, a German food technology company.

Since its founding in 2004, Foodcons has established itself as a reputable producer of machinery solutions and the authorized distributor of Sormac equipment in Germany and Austria. It has been mutually decided that Foodcons GmbH & Co KG will be merged into Sormac GmbH during this year, following many years of fruitful cooperation in which Sormac also serves as Foodcons’ distributor.

“We believe that this change will lead to improved production efficiency, a symbiosis of our engineering efforts, and most importantly, an improved service for our existing and new customers,” Elena Haffmans, Director of Business Innovations at Sormac, mentioned.

With the new collaboration, Sormac customers will be able to take advantage of an expanded product portfolio incorporating Foodcons’ highly versatile machinery.

As well as its headquarters and production site in Venlo, in recent years Sormac has opened sales and service centers in both the US and the UK. Establishing Sormac GmbH in Germany is in line with Sormac’s intention to bring the company’s best-in-class technology to a much wider audience.

This strategic acquisition underscores Sormac’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Germany and Austria while continuing to deliver cutting-edge solutions to the fresh-cut fruit and vegetable industry.
