BonBon Moves Into Savory Snacks With Swedish Potato Chip Launch

BonBon Swedish Candy Co. has launched its first savory snack, marking a move beyond confectionery for the New York-based company known for its Swedish candy range.
The company introduced BonBon Swedish Potato Chips, a kettle-cooked chip line made with potatoes grown on Gotland, Sweden. According to the company, the potatoes are cultivated in the island’s lime-rich soil and shaped by its temperate maritime climate, contributing to the product’s texture and ingredient positioning.
The launch extends BonBon’s Swedish snacking platform into the premium potato chip category, with the company emphasizing thin-cut chips, a crunchy texture and flavor profiles linked to Swedish food traditions.
The chips will debut in four varieties: Dill & Chives, Salt & Vinegar, Dill & Pickle, and Truffle & Parmesan. BonBon said each variety draws inspiration from Swedish ingredients and culinary references, including the country’s association with dill, preserved vegetables and Gotland’s wild truffles.
“At BonBon, we are storytellers of Swedish culture through food,” said Max Herrlander, Director of Sales of BonBon Swedish Candy Co. “Our goal has always been to share the traditions, ingredients, and everyday rituals that make Sweden special. With BonBon Swedish Potato Chips, we’re introducing another expression of our heritage through exceptional ingredients and the simple joy of a truly beautiful snack.”
The chips are available in 40g bags and will be sold through BonBon retail locations and selected retailers worldwide.
Founded in 2017 by Robert Persson, Selim Adira and Leonard Schaltz, BonBon Swedish Candy Co. operates seven retail locations across New York and Connecticut, alongside its e-commerce business and wholesale operations.
