Sylvie Marhadour is the New Scientific Director of the inov3PT
On September 1, 2024, Sylvie Marhadour, a research engineer at L’Institut Technique Agricole du Plant de Pomme de Terre (inov3PT) since 2003, formally started her new position as its scientific manager.
With Yves Le Hingrat set to retire on January 1, 2025, after 40 years of service to the potato plant industry, Sylvie assumed responsibility for the genetics and technical program assisting potato varietal selection. Sylvie is based at the Ploudaniel 29 site of INRAE UMR IGEPP.
Before joining the potato plant sector in 2003, Sylvie worked as a research engineer on a project called ‘Génoplante portant sur le colza’ – Genoplant on rapeseed – (INRAE/Biogemma) and holds a doctorate in genetics and plant breeding from the Institut Agro Rennes.
It will be Sylvie’s responsibility to oversee and direct the inov3PT’s scientific strategy for all of the teams.
Inov3PT’s missions are to provide solutions and innovations to players in the sector (plant producers and Producer Organizations, laboratories, breeders, technicians, experimenters, etc.) to reinforce the advantages of the French sector but also to transfer the results and develop their impact. inov3PT also provides reference missions, technical support, expertise, and training, at national and international levels.
inov3PT is funded by seed producers and also benefits – as an agricultural technical institute – from a CasDAR grant under the National Agricultural and Rural Development Program (PNDAR). Its work is also conducted within the framework of a large network of scientific and technical partnerships as well as numerous collaborative projects.
