Following its presence in France and Portugal with Meléndez France and Batatas Meléndez, one of Patatas Meléndez’s priorities is to open new markets and diversify export destinations. According to Javier Meléndez, CEO of the company, going to Fruit Logistica is the ideal way to maintain a closer relationship with international customers and suppliers, and to communicate all the innovations of the new factory.

The new factory’s numerous technologies vary from optical selectors to disruptive systems to control raw material traceability throughout the entire manufacturing process. Furthermore, AGV transportation will allow for remote management, and its cutting-edge technology will save water and energy use.

The Castilian-Leonese corporation ended 2022 with a turnover of EUR110m and 200,000 tons of potatoes sold, greatly exceeding the results of the previous year. This shows an increase of more than 21% for the group from the prior year, which is a strong closing that encourages growth in the following year.
