Duravant Presents World-Class Sorting and Handling Equipment at Pack Expo Las Vegas

Duravant’s newly created Food Sorting and Handling Solutions business, which includes operational firms Key Technology, Multiscan Technologies, PPM Technologies, and WECO, will exhibit in booth C-4230 of Pack Expo Las Vegas for the first time.
Duravant will showcase its expanded portfolio of automation technologies and newest innovations that optimize yield, ensure product quality, reduce labor, and improve operating efficiencies for food growers and processors, including world-class optical sorters, specialized conveyors, and advanced turnkey processing line solutions.
“As processors and packers are looking to phase out in-house production line engineering, they’re turning to equipment suppliers who provide seamlessly integrated solutions with single-source responsibility. Our Food Sorting and Handling Solutions group brings together complementary technologies and expertise from several Duravant brands so we can offer turnkey lines for a wider range of food applications. We’re continuing to evolve and add more value to our customers’ operations, both through R&D and with strategic acquisitions of industry leaders like PPM, who joined our family of brands last month,” Jack Lee, Duravant Group President – Food Sorting and Handling Solutions, mentioned.
Key Technology will demonstrate its unique Compass food optical sorter. Compass, the most user-friendly optical sorter on the market, offers consistently high foreign material and product defect removal while simplifying system operation, cleaning, and maintenance. This unique sorting system, which is ideal for sorting a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, snack foods, and more, assists processors in automating and improving quality management of their food items while maximizing yield and enhancing profitability.
PPM Technologies introduces the Mini VF electromagnetic vibratory motion conveyor, a compact product handling conveyor. The Mini VF, which is powered by a universal low-frequency drive and PPM’s proprietary feedback sensor, provides complete control over production flow rates. This adaptable and cost-effective conveyor enhances cleanliness, reduces maintenance, and offers optimal reliability over lengthy life cycles while gently handling a variety of products such as snack foods, cereals, confectionaries, and vegetables.
Key Technology’s reversible Zephyr horizontal-motion conveyor is also on display. Zephyr’s unique motion profile softly slides items to convey with minimal segregation or stratification to safeguard product quality and reduce noise, achieving better capacity than competing horizontal-motion conveyors. The reversible Zephyr, which can run in either direction, increases line adaptability while increasing sanitation and lowering maintenance costs.
