Europlant Celebrated its 30th Anniversary During PotatoEurope 2022

During PotatoEurope 2022, over 300 guests from Germany and abroad gathered on September 7, at Gut Rethmar, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Europlant Pflanzenzucht GmbH.
“30 years ago, Europlant has been established, the beginning of our journey. We are proud to look back on a successful and dynamic company history driven by your trust and cooperation. With a sale of over 500,000 tons of potatoes, we have also gained a significant market position internationally,” Jörg Renatus, Managing Director of Europlant mentioned.
The decades of very successful research and breeding by the sister company Böhm-Nordkartoffel Agrarproduktion GmbH & Co. OHG (BNA) and its affiliated breeders are the basis of Europlant´s success.
Europlant is an innovative, internationally operating trading firm for seed potatoes. The Europlant Group is active in more than 70 countries and has a worldwide distribution network comprising 13 subsidiaries and other contractors. The Europlant Group distributes worldwide a total of about 260,000 tons of seed potatoes, therefore 145,000 tons on the German market.
Besides the worldwide exclusive distribution of protected varieties, Europlant offers its customers an extensive portfolio of customer and advisory services and supports the customer needs in the different sales markets. With a team of more than 250 well-qualified employees, Europlant has the necessary human resources to meet the high international quality standards. The managing directors of the company are Jörg Eggers and Jörg Renatus.
The Lower Saxony company with its head office in Lueneburg was founded in 1992 as a distributor of the long-standing breeding company Kartoffelzucht Böhm GmbH & Co. KG and its partners Vereinigte Saatzuchten eG, Raiffeisen Centralheide eG and RAISA eG. After its foundation, Europlant became responsible for marketing the potato varieties to its shareholders in East Germany and for different export markets. In 2002, EUROPLANT acquired worldwide distribution rights.
In addition to basic research, Böhm-Nordkartoffel Agrarproduktion GmbH & Co. OHG (BNA) concentrates on breeding new potato varieties and producing the corresponding pre-basic and certified seed potatoes on its farms within the Europlant network, thus continuing a tradition that goes back over 100 years.
