PEI’s 2024 International Potato Technology Expo: A Resounding Success

Thousands of experts from throughout North America traveled to Charlottetown’s Eastlink Centre on the weekend of February 22-23 to attend the 2024 International Potato Technology Expo. The building was packed with eager industry growers, packagers, and processors looking to take advantage of this biennial event.
In all, 3,114 people toured the exhibition floor to see the many displays from local, regional, national, and international firms. Exhibitors at the exhibition showcased cutting-edge and innovative items such as new potato varieties, the most recent models of equipment, innovative growing technologies, packaging and processing automation, crop control, and more.
“The show featured a two-day conference, where potato experts gathered both mornings of the show to discuss market trends, current research, and updates within the agriculture economy. Thursday’s Conference was proudly presented by the United Potato Growers of Canada and the Friday conference was proudly presented by the PEI Potato Board and the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Land,” according to a recent press release.
