A New Iteration of Ishida Europe’s ACP-700 Series Automatic Case Packer

Ishida Europe has unveiled a new iteration of its ACP-700 series automatic case packer (ACP), which provides a quick, adaptable, and incredibly compact solution for a variety of bag and case sizes and pack patterns for snacks and other dry product packs.
Due to its up to 50% smaller footprint than other casepacker models, the ACP-722 RRP has one of the smallest footprints currently on the market. This enables rapid and simple installation as well as seamless integration into current production lines, conserving valuable factory space. The single-directional flow design creates an efficient and small line structure that is also easily able to support twin lines. 20 cases per minute is the maximum pace.
“Key to the machine’s small size is the combination of case infeed and alignment, bag sorting and packing as well as case closing and sealing in one single compact unit, removing the need for additional conveyors. This also means that all functions can be controlled from one HMI touchscreen. Product changeover is initiated at the touch of a button. This process is completely automatic and performed in under three minutes, without requiring a skilled technician,” the Packaging Strategies wrote.
Easy-to-use, simple menus are displayed on the sophisticated HMI touchscreen for machine setup and monitoring. It allows for the storage of up to 500 presets and can warn operators of potential upstream problems, allowing them to take rapid action to reduce waste and unplanned downtime. It also allows for the storage of images of each pack format to help reduce operator error.
The ACP-722 RRP may be used as a component of an Ishida-made, fully integrated snacks packing line that also includes a multi-head weigher, bagmaker, seal tester, check weigher, X-ray inspection system, and case packer. Setup and adjustment for the entire line may be done from any location along the line using a single HMI panel using Ishida’s ITPS 2 software.
No matter the skill level of the operator, the ACP-722 RRP, which is a part of the integrated line, receives upstream pack air-fill data from the Ishida seal tester and makes quick modifications to ensure continuous and reliable high-speed packing.
Packs are counted in line to make sure the right number is delivered into each case.
The ACP-700 line of case packers can handle a variety of bag styles, including pillow, side gusset, flat bottom, and HEM, with widths and lengths ranging from 108 to 330mm. Without changing any machine elements, these can be packaged into a variety of arrangements and orientations, including retail-ready display cases. In addition to tape sealing, there are other choices for case closure, including side locks and push locks.
“The snacks market remains highly competitive, and companies therefore need to maximize efficiencies in every part of their operations. The ACP-722 RRP has been designed to ensure fast throughput without compromising on pack quality and presentation, delivering maximum return from a minimum footprint,” Jim McGregor, Applications Engineer at Ishida Europe, summed up.
