Haith Presents Its Latest Innovations at Potato Expo 2023

On the 4th and 5th of January, the Potato Expo 2023 event in Aurora, Colorado, will mark the introduction of Haith Group’s Mobile Water Treatment System and PRO-Sort mobile optical grader into the American market.
The Haith Mobile Water Treatment System, which can be utilized in factories or on farms, will be demonstrated to attendees at Booth 519. The company has implemented multiple water purification systems in the UK and Europe, but American businesses are frequently discouraged by difficult planning procedures and high freight expenses.
With its innovative modular design, Haith has solved every problem that would deter potential buyers from abroad. The plant can be easily transported by low loaders without the need for specific permits by splitting it into various sections, and it can be put together with the use of forklifts or a crane in less than two days.
The Haith Mobile Water Treatment System receives filthy water from a wash system and filters bigger organic debris from the water using a screen. The lamella settler, which separates the dirt from the water, is where the effluent is subsequently pumped. The sludge settles to the tank’s bottom, where it is pumped to a filterpress for dewatering that is located on the other side of the apparatus. A skip or dirt trailer can then be used to transport the resulting soil cake. To be used again in the process or to be disposed of in the sewer, treated water is fed into a storage tank.
Dealing With Labor Shortages by Automating the Sorting Process
The PRO-Sort mobile optical grader, a collaboration between Haith and Grimme UK, is the second invention to be presented by the company during the exhibit.
The mobile optical sorter helps growers deal with labor shortages by automating the removal of stone, clod, and foreign material from potatoes. A Tomra 3A optical sorter, which can handle up to 100 tonnes per hour with excellent levels of precision, is at the heart of the device.
The Tomra 3A uses Near Infra-Red multi-spectral sensors for a clear evaluation of every object “in flight,” distinguishing between potatoes and alien objects without any difficulty. Green potatoes, which, like garbage, are ejected at the end of the conveyor belt by clever finger ejectors, can also be detected by the 3A’s color sensors.
The PRO Sort can be utilized in the field or on a farm and is simple to integrate into a new or existing grading line because it is a modular device.
Haith will provide updates on changes made to its Pro-Line modular food handling system in addition to the mobile systems. The Pro-Line is an extraordinarily efficient way for Haith to unite all of its industry-leading machinery.
In the UK, Pro-Line installations have produced the same levels of throughput as lines with twice as many older machines.
“We are very excited about Potato Expo 2023 and are looking forward to introducing our growing range of mobile washing, grading, and water treatment systems to the United States. When we exhibited at Interpom in Europe at the end of 2022, the solutions were incredibly well received. With US growers and food producers facing similar issues to those in Europe, we expect a similar reception at Potato Expo 2023!” Rob Highfield, Sales Manager, concluded.
