New Checkweigher Range Meets European Market Needs
Ishida Europe is introducing an improved line of checkweighers that are made to satisfy the most recent standards of the European market. With the help of the company’s nearly 50 years of checkweigher technical experience, the new Ishida DACS-GN platform takes checkweighing to the next level while maintaining the familiarity of the current range to make the move to the new models easy for businesses.
The Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) has been approved for the Ishida DACS-GN checkweighers, which are made in the UK for quicker lead times. The checkweighers come in two variants: Excellence and Advanced. With the ability to handle target weights ranging from 5g to 6kg and faster speeds of up to 480 packs per minute, both models provide enhanced performance.
“At Ishida our focus is on continuous development, listening to our customers, and identifying the latest market requirements. The DACS-GN checkweighers build on our experience and expertise to deliver improved levels of speed and efficiency, together with enhanced flexibility. Equally important is the ease with which customers can change to the new models, which can be simply integrated into existing lines and which operators will be able to quickly adapt to,” Philip Grove, Ishida’s Product Manager – Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, IDCS, mentioned.
The development of the Ishida DACS-GN has focused on enhancements to three main areas: electronics, software, and mechanical design.
While the streamlined software system eliminates the need for additional operating hardware to support both basic and optional programs, the same electrical platform makes maintenance and servicing easier. Reliability, performance, and convenience have all advanced further thanks to the checkweighers’ revised layout and design.
One of the standard features is an easy-to-use Color Touch Screen display that runs on the newest software from Ishida. A “license key” is one of the advancements included in the software development. Other features include local production data backup to USB, compatibility for OPC-UA and Industry 5.0, and the ability to add options without requiring a service visit.
The inclusion of a metal detector and Ishida’s cutting-edge RRC (Retail Reject Confirmation) hardware and software, which verifies that any product or pack that does not meet specifications has been successfully removed from the line, are two features that all DACS-GN models have in common.
Adding more photo-eye sensors to this allows for even more precise tracking of the goods during the weighing procedure. Should any irregularity or unapproved intervention be identified, or should an unsuccessful attempt to delete a rejected item occur, the system will instantly enter protection mode and shut down.
Enhancements, as well as redesigned covers and access panels that offer quicker and simpler access for servicing and maintenance, have made the DACS-GN checkweighers’ construction even more durable. Even in difficult industrial situations, Ishida’s exclusive Anti-Floor-Vibration (AFV) technology guarantees the best weighing accuracy.
Models that exceed strict cleaning standards and are certified IP54 and IP65 can be specified for dusty or damp environments. All waterproof variants have quick-release stainless steel conveyor beds, which enhance cleanliness and expedite cleaning. A redesigned Plug-and-Play base expedites installation.
Lifting brackets also reduces the possibility of machine damage during installation or if the checkweigher needs to be moved and re-positioned in the factory.
“The new DACS-GN checkweighers have the flexibility to meet the needs of a huge variety of applications, combining advanced features and performance with the quality and reliability for which Ishida has always been known,” Philip Grove concluded.
