Limited-edition Valentine’s Day French Fry Lip Balm Sells Out in 48 Hours

Within 48 hours of its debut, the Idaho Potato Commission’s Kiss of French lip balm—inspired by French fries and manufactured with actual Idaho potatoes—sold out.
“The limited-edition Valentine’s Day release took social media by storm, proving again that America’s love for French fries knows no bounds. But there’s still hope for those who missed out—Idaho Potato Commission is giving fans one last chance to score the fry-flavored lip balm with an exclusive Instagram giveaway, running through Valentine’s Day,” a recent press release reveals.
The Idaho Potato Commission claims that Kiss of French is not your typical lip balm. In contrast to conventional lip balms, it is made from mashed Idaho potatoes that have been combined into a moisturizing mixture that softens lips and subtly evokes the flavor of a fry.
After Frites by Idaho, a French fry-scented perfume that also sold out in record time, this is IPC’s second viral beauty-meets-food launch.
“French fries aren’t just a favorite—they’re a full-on obsession. Americans consume over 9 billion pounds of fries each year, and when they want the best, they turn to Idaho potatoes. With Kiss of French, we took that love and turned it into something unexpected and unforgettable,” Jamey Higham, IPC President & CEO, mentioned.
Fans still have a chance to purchase Kiss of French even though it is officially sold out! Through Friday, lucky winners will have the opportunity to claim the last balms available through an Instagram promotion run by the Idaho Potato Commission.
According to a recent nationwide Pollfish survey, 92% of Americans think that fresh Idaho potato French fries have an appealing flavor. Now, that same seductive charm is resurfacing surprisingly, making your lips equally alluring.
