Cal-Organic Farms Introduces Premium Organic Bite-Size Potato Program

Grimmway Produce Group has announced the launch of a new Organic Bite-Size Potato Program under its Cal-Organic Farms label, expanding its year-round organic vegetable offering with a dedicated range of small-format potatoes aimed at retail growth and convenience-driven demand.
The Bakersfield, California-based group said the new certified organic line will be available year-round and includes six offerings: gold, red and medley bite-size potatoes, fingerlings, and “nibbles,” positioned as a novelty option for shoppers seeking differentiation within the category.
Each product is packed in a mesh pillow pack format designed to enhance product visibility and highlight freshness at shelf level. The company said the program is intended to support both core potato category performance and secondary merchandising opportunities in store.
“This bite-size potato program delivers the convenience, flavor, and year-round reliability Cal-Organic is known for, while bringing new energy and innovation to the organic potato category,” said Drew Callaghan, SVP Retail Sales, Grimmway Produce Group.
According to the company, the potatoes are grown in the United States and harvested at peak freshness. The smaller format is positioned as offering faster, more consistent cooking, targeting households seeking time-saving meal solutions.
Callaghan added: “Retailers can merchandise the new line within the potato category or drive additional impulse sales by featuring it in secondary locations, such as the meat department or next to other convenience-focused produce items.”
The Organic Bite-Size Potato Program will be showcased at booth 114 during SEPC Southern Exposure, with orders opening on March 9. Nationwide distribution is expected to roll out through early 2026.
Grimmway Produce Group describes itself as a global produce supplier and North America’s grower, shipper and processor of carrots, potatoes and organic vegetables, with production across 19 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces.
