Well-known Restaurants Are Using McCain Fries Specialties

The new Menu Signatures Staycrisp Medium and Julienne Skin-on Fries from McCains have received the seal of approval from the Hereford-based burger restaurateurs Beefy Boys.
Beefy Boys spokesman Anthony Murphy, said, according to thecaterer.com: “The two new McCain Staycrisp Fries are great, the coating helps them stay hot and crisp even when they’ve been seasoned.
The four guys behind the Beefy Boys, who were awarded for their burgers, needed to source a chip that matched the demand for their products.
“You can’t just serve any fry. It needs to look and taste right. And while we have plain fries on the menu, it’s also important to give customers options so they can get a unique experience. “We serve topped and seasoned fries with some really unique flavor and aroma combinations. Not only does that give customers more value as they get an experience, it’s also a great way for us to increase revenue,” added Murphy.
Jo Holborn, McCain Foods marketing and category controller, said: “The launch of new Menu Signatures Staycrisp Medium and Julienne Skin-on Fries, ensures caterers can meet growing consumer demand for big flavors and a memorable dining experience that really ignites the senses. Offering seasoned fries is on-trend right now and an easy way to meet consumer demand for unique flavor experiences without drastically changing the menu, but it also increases profits as you can charge a premium for your fries.”
Nando’s and McDonald’s Also Use McCain Chips
On the other hand, another news about McCain potatoes came from Nando’s and McDonald’s, two chains that have admitted using McCain frozen chips from Scotland in its restaurants in the UK.
Talk of the fries Nando’s use began when an ex-employee told a local newspaper that not all Nando’s food is fresh. Now the chain has confirmed they use McCain frozen chips claims but insists the chips are not the kind you would cook at home, according to heraldscotland.com.
“Our hugely popular chips are developed in partnership with McCain Food Services and the specific recipe is exclusive to Nando’s,” Nando’s spokesman has said. “They aren’t the same as their grocery products such as oven chips,” they said.
A McDonald’s spokesman confirmed they are used in their branches too.
“We work with two suppliers to make our world famous fries, McCain and Lamb Weston – partnering with them for over 30 years,” said a spokesman.
