Europatat Names New Secretary General
The Europatat Board, the European Potato Trade Association, recently announced the appointment of Berta Redondo Benito as the new Secretary General of the association, effective September 1, 2020. She will succeed Raquel Izquierdo de Santiago, who has successfully led the association for the last six years.
The new Secretary General, Berta Redondo Benito holds a Journalism Degree from the University of Valladolid in Spain, where she is originally from, and she has a strong work experience in agricultural communication and European affairs.
Redondo Benito brings to the position her experience after more than two years and a half at Europatat, having familiarized herself with all the members and having been completely immersed in the culture of the association. In this position, she will represent and defend the interest of the sector at the European level, as well as in other international settings, and will remain responsible for all internal and external communications, policy dossiers such as agriculture, sustainability and research and innovation.
Commenting on her appointment, Redondo Benito said: “It is a great honor for me to be given this opportunity to represent such an important sector in Europe at such an exciting time. I am keen to embark on this new responsibility and continue the proactive work of the Europatat Secretariat of the past years, always with the support of the members and stakeholders across the whole potato sector.”
