Falcon Agrifriz Unveils India’s Largest Frozen Potato Processing Facility in Gujarat

Falcon Agrifriz Foods Private Limited has inaugurated a state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing facility for frozen potato products in Kadi, Mehsana district, Gujarat, marking a significant development in India’s food processing industry.
The new plant was inaugurated by India’s Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput, and other dignitaries, underscoring the project’s strategic and economic importance.
With an investment of approximately ₹1,050 crore (around USD 126 million), the facility is set to position Gujarat as a global hub for frozen potato-based products. Built in under two years, the plant spans 25 acres and is currently the most advanced of its kind in India. It features a 350-metre-long French fries production line with a processing capacity of 15 metric tons per hour—India’s largest. In addition, a specialty line produces 3.5 metric tons of other potato-based products, such as wedges, hash browns, and nuggets.
The investment forms part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of Gujarat. The site was selected for its proximity to strong agricultural zones and infrastructure, and benefits from a robust contract farming network that includes more than 4,000 farmers. High-quality seed potatoes—cultivated under supervision in regions such as Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Ladakh—are transported to Gujarat for commercial farming and integrated into Falcon’s end-to-end cold chain.
“This plant represents more than manufacturing; it embodies our philosophy of future-forward, responsible growth,” said Shri Tara Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman of Falcon Group. “We aim to produce efficiently, sustainably, and with the highest global standards.”
The plant maintains controlled shop floor temperatures below 28°C and is 100% automated, making it one of India’s most technically sophisticated food processing sites.
Vice-Chairman Parthajeet Patnaik described the facility as a transformative step in Falcon’s mission to develop globally competitive, India-led enterprises. “We’re harnessing the strength of our farmers, the power of technology, and the vision of a new India to shape the future of food processing,” he said.
Director & CEO Manish Tibrewal added, “This facility marks more than an investment in infrastructure—it signals a decisive leap toward India’s food processing leadership. What drives us is not just production, but a deeper purpose: nation-building from the soil up.”
Falcon Agrifriz is already engaging with international markets under brands such as Just Crave, Bon Vegato, Frizeto and Just Fries. The company has presented its portfolio at major international trade shows including Gulfood, AAHAR and SIAL.
The new facility strengthens Falcon’s positioning as a key player in India’s frozen food export ambitions and highlights the country’s increasing capacity to deliver value-added, globally competitive agri-food products.
