Potato supplier commended for innovative design
Branston Ltd has been commended in the national finals of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards for the design of its prepared foods factory.
The UK’s largest potato supplier was recognised and praised for the innovative design of its prepared foods factory ahead of hundreds of other companies from around the UK.
More than 450 building projects were entered into the RICS Awards, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the property industry. After winning the Sustainability category at the East Midlands awards in May, the project team behind the factory were delighted to receive a commendation at the national ceremony in October.
Graeme Beattie, managing director, at Branston, said: “We are delighted to have been commended under the Sustainability category at such a prestigious award ceremony. It is a reflection of all the hard work and research that has gone into ensuring that the factory is as efficient as possible. As a company we build in sustainability to all our new developments and to have this recognised by a body such as RICS is fantastic.”
The factory, which was designed to be as environmentally efficient as possible, was completed in May last year and it now shares resources with the main factory next door at its site in Branston near Lincoln.
