A New Batch of Chinese Potatoes for the Russian Primorsky Federal Region

Primorsky Krai, located in the Far East region of Russia, and that shares Russia’s only border with North Korea, received a new supply of Chinese potatoes after a two-month break.
“According to information received from phytosanitary control posts, from March 20 to March 26, the first batch of Chinese potatoes […] arrived,” the Primorsky Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor told UssurMedia news agency.
At the phytosanitary checkpoints Pogranichny and Poltavka, the Rosselkhoznadzor controlled the import of 87.4 tons of potatoes, with the last potato shipments from China coming in at the end of January.
Phytosanitary control of regulated products entering the territory of Primorsky Krai is carried out by inspectors of the Primorsky Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor at temporary storage warehouses in the area of customs posts in the normal mode.
Last year, after a break of three years, Chinese-grown potatoes are being imported into Russia again.
The regional department of Rosselkhoznadzor summed up the results of the navigation season, which lasted four months, and revealed that, since June 25th, 2022, more than 2,000 tons of potatoes have been delivered to the country.
