Sales of fresh potatoes increased by 2.2%, while sales of potato chips decreased by 0.2%. Frozen potatoes showed little change in volume, with a 0.02% drop. Despite making just 6% of total sales, deli-prepared sides saw the biggest volume rise (5.4%).
The retail dollar sales of every variety of potato – aside from fresh – rose. Dehydrated potatoes (8.9%) and frozen (14.6%) showed the biggest increases. Fresh potato sales in US dollars decreased by 1% but still totaled over USD4.2bn.

Dollar sales for fresh potato pack sizes less than two pounds grew 4.7%, while dollar sales for 2–4-pound packs grew 1.5% and dollar sales of 8-pound packs grew 7%. Dollar sales decreased for 5-pound packs (-2.1%), 10-pound packs (-6.6%), and packs greater than 10 pounds (-36.4%).
