Dewulf Launches MP 18-110 Hall Filler Targeting High-Capacity North American Operations

Dewulf has introduced the MP 18-110, a new hall filler designed for high-capacity potato and vegetable handling in the North American market, extending the Belgian manufacturer’s storage and logistics portfolio for large-volume operations.
The MP 18-110 has been developed to handle intensive filling operations while limiting product damage, a key concern for growers and processors managing increasing storage volumes. According to the company, the machine sits in the highest capacity class within its range, featuring 110-centimetre-wide conveyors and a design intended to optimise product flow by minimising drop heights between the elevator and the boom.
The telescopic boom is equipped with a single continuous conveyor, a configuration Dewulf says reduces maintenance requirements and supports gentler handling. Slip detection systems on both the boom and the elevator belt are integrated to help prevent interruptions during operation.
With a swing range of 23 metres and a net length of 15.5 metres, the MP 18-110 is positioned for applications such as back-filling trailers and large storage facilities. The hall filler can be configured with either a rubber belt elevator or a belted chain, depending on operator preference and crop requirements. One of the machine’s central features is a proportional adaptive slewing system, which automatically adjusts slewing speed to match product flow in order to avoid jerking and support even distribution. Automatic height compensation is included as standard.
Dewulf says the MP 18-110 has been engineered specifically with North American operating conditions in mind. Stability and manoeuvrability are supported by optional hydraulic support legs and an extendable drawbar, while large wheels allow transport speeds of up to 50 kilometres per hour. A wide steering angle is intended to improve handling within storage environments. Optional ceiling detection sensors are available, particularly for use in round storage sheds.
Operation is managed via a wired remote control and a seven-inch colour touchscreen, with an optional wireless remote control featuring a display also available.
The MP 18-110 includes two automatic filling programmes using Dewulf’s Top-Fill system. The Dynamic programme operates on a layer-by-layer basis and can follow a straight A-B line, for example during trailer filling. The Premium programme is fully autonomous, creating terraces independently. Once a layer is completed, the boom automatically lifts, extends and slews along the side wall to begin a new terrace. An acoustic signal indicates programme completion or automatically switches off the line.
Dewulf also highlights the machine’s energy efficiency and noise profile. Average power consumption is stated at 40 amps at 460 volts and 60 hertz three-phase, while operating noise levels are reported at approximately 83 decibels. The company says the MP 18-110 is prepared for future automation developments and aligns with its broader innovation strategy.
Founded nearly 80 years ago, family-owned Dewulf specialises in machinery for potatoes and root crops. The company operates from locations in Belgium, the Netherlands and Romania, and employs more than 550 people worldwide.
