Fortress Technology Launches Hygienic Conveyor Series to Boost Uptime and Food Safety

Fortress Technology has unveiled a new range of sanitary conveyors designed to meet the food industry’s increasingly stringent hygiene standards while minimizing production downtime. The newly introduced systems enable tool-free disassembly, addressing a longstanding challenge in conveyor belt maintenance and sanitation without sacrificing equipment durability.
Regular sanitation procedures often require disassembling conveyor belts, a process that typically leads to tension loss and accelerated mechanical wear. Fortress has now introduced a simplified design across its metal detectors, checkweighers, and combination systems that allows operators to remove and reassemble conveyor components without tools—significantly reducing changeover times and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Each Fortress conveyor comprises just three key parts: the deck with motor and drive roller, an end roller assembly, and the conveyor belt. When the end roller assembly is removed for cleaning, belt tension, alignment, and tracking are automatically restored upon reinsertion, eliminating the need for recalibration or manual adjustment.
“The no-tools design increases production uptime while reducing the risk of foreign object contamination from lost screws or small parts,” the company stated.
Building on this approach, Fortress has also introduced the Vector Sanitary Conveyor, which features an angled frame and open construction, engineered specifically for washdown environments. Like its predecessors, the Vector is designed for high-performance operation in food processing settings where compliance with hygiene regulations is critical.
The launch of this modular, easy-to-clean conveyor range reflects Fortress Technology’s continued focus on practical innovations that streamline sanitation processes while enhancing product safety and operational continuity.
