Key Technology Upgrades FMAlert Software for VERYX Digital Sorters
Key Technology, a leading manufacturer of process automation systems, has recently announced the implementation of a new, more advanced version for its FMAlert software for VERYX digital sorters.
FMAlert was designed to capture and save digital images of any foreign materials (FM) found in the product stream. According to the company, the upgraded FMAlert is now capable of annotating each image to pinpoint the exact location of the FM but also makes access to records easier. Moreover, the system can be instructed to issue a smart alarm to alert the operator when a critical FM is detected.
For added convenience and efficiency, Key’s next-generation software can even be programmed to identify specific, user-defined FM events.
FMAlert works by placing digital “Marks” that are clear and easy to see on the images to highlight where an FM event has taken place.
“New food safety regulations and consumers’ rising expectations for product quality are pushing processors to look at more ways to ensure their product is free from FM. Equipping VERYX with FMAlertis a powerful combination. The sorter’s advanced Pixel Fusion sensor technology finds smaller and more subtle FM defects, and it can better identify specific FM types. VERYX removes FM as well as product defects from the product stream with virtually no false rejects”, explains Marco Azzaretti, Advanced Inspection Systems Product Manager at Key.
On top of being able to detect FM events, Key’s enhanced FMAlert can be used to identify key FM trends, like for example reoccurring FMs for a certain product source.
The company notes that all food processors with VERYX, but also other Key sorters, can take advantage of the upgraded FMAlert software.
