The U.S. Potato Seeding Hectarage Grew This Year

During the first 2023 months, at the U.S. level, 384,046 hectares of land have been planted with potatoes, which represents an increase of 5% from the previous year. The harvested area is anticipated to increase by 5% from 2022 to 381,173 ha.
About 133,546 hectares total of potatoes were sown in Idaho during the spring planting season, an increase of 12% from the previous year. According to USDA/NASS data, the harvested area is estimated to be 133,343 ha, an increase of 12% over the previous year.
Potatoes were reportedly grown on 16,187 hectares in Oregon, a 7% decrease from the previous year. At 16,187 hectares, the harvested area is down 7% from the previous year.
An estimated 64,749 hectares of potatoes were cultivated in Washington, an increase of 3% over the previous year. At 64,547 hectares, the harvested area has increased by 3% since 2022.
