A 15th Anniversary for the Fruit Attraction 2023

Fruit Attraction will celebrate its 15th anniversary in grand style from October 3 to 5, 2023. With 2,000 exhibiting companies from 56 countries, more than 64,000 square meters of floor space, and an expected attendance of 90,000 professionals from 135 countries, the fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, has the largest participation in its history.
For the first time, the Madrid fairground will consist of nine halls -1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 that will house the wide range of fruit and vegetable products on offer at this edition, representing an increase in both occupancy and participation of more than 10% over last year’s edition. As a result, Fruit Attraction 2023, which includes the participation of 316 new enterprises, will transform the city into a global hub for the commercialization of fresh produce.
“These highly positive figures demonstrate the fruit and vegetable sector’s growing interest in participating in the sector’s largest business center, as well as its support for promoting Fruit Attraction as a fundamental lever for internationalization and a meeting point for all professionals along the entire supply chain,” according to a recent press release.
This time, the Related Industry Area, which accounts for 25% of the fair, has seen growth in two of its sectors: Biotech Attraction, up 5%, and Smart Agro, up 20%. The Fresh Produce Area, which makes up over 70% of the fair, has had a 14% increase from the previous year. With 48 enterprises participating, the Fresh Food Logistics Area also saw a growth of more than 31%.
“National participation accounts for 60% of the fair. The immense influence of Spain as a world leader in the fruit and vegetable market will be reflected by the presence of almost all the autonomous communities producing fruit and vegetables in the country, cementing Fruit Attraction as an effective tool for generating business opportunities and accessing new international markets, precisely in a key month for planning campaigns,” the organizers added.
56 Participating Countries
The international segment accounts for 40% of occupancy, with 56 countries participating. On this occasion, 17 new markets have been added, such as Austria, Denmark, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, reinforcing the strong European presence.
Offering a platform for global expansion and promotion is one of Fruit Attraction’s key goals. In this regard, IFEMA MADRID is once again launching the International Buyers Program with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and ICEX. This program will bring to Madrid over 700 buyers from 70 different countries, retail purchasing managers, importers, and wholesalers, adding a distinctive vibrancy to the fair’s operations.
The Noted Importing Country is an addition to this, and the stars of this edition are Brazil, Canada, and the U.S. As a result, Fruit Attraction will strengthen and expand business ties with these markets, supported by a complete schedule of round tables, fair tours, and B2B sessions.
The area devoted to innovation and business developments in the industry will be the Innovation Hub, which is located at the intersection of Halls 8 and 10. It will feature 54 goods. The Innovation Hub Awards, which have developed into a crucial event for fostering the sector’s entrepreneurial commitment, will once again be held at the show in this area under the customary categories of Fresh Produce, F&V Industry, and Sustainability and Commitment Actions.
The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will be held at the exhibition center from Tuesday, 3 to Thursday, 5 October, from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on the last day.
